Note: the guild charter is subject to change at any time.
Welcome to the Knights of Tranquility. We sincerely hope that you will be able to call KoT your “home” while you travel in Azeroth and the Outlands. In our guild we have a diverse collection of people from many walks of life. While we have come together to celebrate the spirit of cooperation and camaraderie, people's opinions regarding game mechanics/strategies/character optimization may differ. By joining the guild you are making a commitment to be a part of a team.
As with all guilds and in real life, conflicts can arise. We believe that when conflict arises, it can be a positive experience and both parties can benefit from it. We believe you have the right to disagree with things knowing that you will not be persecuted for it. There is a clear line drawn between disagreeing with someone and criticizing someone for what they believe.
There is no level minimum for joining the guild. However, as this is a guild that is focused on endgame raid level instances, it may be difficult for you to get groups until you hit level 65 or so. Higher level members may be inclined to help you out with lower level instances from time to time, but it's by no means required.
*important* when you are accepted to the Knights of Tranquility guild, you will be assigned the "Squire" (trial rank). There is a one month "getting to know you" period where we evaluate your personality and goals. Basically we want to see if you and the guild will be a good long term fit. By the end of one month, you should be promoted to be a full member "Knight", or dismissed.
Information:
1. Alts are fine once you have been invited to the guild, but please refrain from asking for invites for bank alts or alts you pretty much don't play. Please speak with the GM for clarification on this policy.
2. When you are accepted into the guild, please register for the forums, using a valid e-mail address. Also, please post a list of your characters in the characters forum, so that we can identify who you are.
You must agree to Blizzard's terms of use:
http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/legal/termsofuse.htmland the Roleplay policy:
http://www.blizzard.com/support/wowgm/?id=agm01725pIn addition, once you have been accepted as a member of the guild, you must follow these rules:
1. Act in a mature, courteous and respectful manner, towards your fellow guildmates, and other members of the Alliance. You are a representative of the Knights, and your actions reflect on our reputation. This includes being humble when victorious, and not dwelling about defeats.
2. Personal initiative and personal responsibility is stressed when organizing groups. Do not expect the officers to organize groups for you. It is up to the individual members to be proactive in forming groups for individual goals.
3. Guild chat is considered at a “PG-13” rating. We are fairly laxed at what is said in guild chat. But we will not tolerate chat that attacks, degrades, or insults a member of the guild. If you are verbally attacking a member of the guild, you will be given a warning. If it happens again, you will be removed from the guild without hesitation. TKChat is available for matters not appropriate for guild chat such as politics, religion, chat with sexual connotations. TKChat is not a "free for all" and still has the above guidlelines instituted. Please use common sense when using guild chat and TKChat.
4. Participation on the forums and in guild events is highly encouraged. You are not expected to post on the forums every day, but if you don't read the forums, you won't know about our guild events. If you don't attend guild events, then you won't get to know the other wonderful people in the guild, better.
5. A philanthropic spirit is encouraged. The next time you find a nice doodad that another member could benefit from, please consider them first. Gold is relatively meaningless in the end-game, but the better equipped we are as a guild, means that we'll be able to take on more difficult challenges.
6. No exploiting. This includes taking advantage of game bugs for your own personal benefit.
7. No griefing. Griefing includes, but is not limited to:
Stealing resources/chests from other players
Training mobs onto other players intentionally
Ninjalooting (i.e. looting something against the group's loot rules) while in a group
Trade scamming
8. PvP Honor: No corpse camping and disrespectful emotes are frowned upon.
9. No spamming guild chat. This includes, but is not limited to:
Constantly begging for help/items
Whining incessantly about how unfair RL/the game is.
Linking purple items repeatedly
Discussing your pve/pvp victories/defeats in excessive detail
10. Leetspeak and profanity. We understand that people occasionally slip, but habitual use of leetspeak and profanity are frowned upon in guild chat and are grounds for a warning. Leetspeak/profanity should ALWAYS be avoided in public channels, as this is an RP server (please see the aforementioned Role Playing Server policy for more details)
11. If a dispute cannot be solved by the individual parties involved, please seek council with an officer(s). Officers, hand-picked by the guild leader and trusted members of the guild have the final say when it comes to dealing with issues. Please only seek out the advice of the GM as a last resort.
12. Please make sure you fully understand the rules, regulations, and requirements of KoT before joining. We have systems in place that while not fully ingrained in stone have worked for us and will be modified/tweaked as the officers of KoT see fit if necessary.
Being a part of KoT means that you have read and agree to abide by these rules. Failure to do so will result in a probationary period or removal from the guild depending on the circumstances of the infraction(s).
